When her grandfather, who she had lived with, passed away, she felt lonely. After the war, her grandfather was interned in Siberia, and she wanted to understand him, so she began to research the Siberian internment camps. One day, when she visited the Repatriation Museum, she saw an exhibit of children's clothes that had been made by their mothers on the ship using recycled clothing. She was captivated by the beauty of the stitching, and for a moment she forgot about the horror of war and gazed upon them.
She filmed herself cutting up her own pants to make socks.
